"-man" is a noun former

I continue to contest the use of "-woman" as a noun former. A cop is a policeman regardless of gender.

I make the same argument for fireman, chairman, and spokesman. The linguistic noun former "-man" conveys the meaning of 'person' or 'a human'. Gender is not involved.

But what do I know? I did not burn my bra.
